Don’t get caught into the hype that you need to have a Valentine to enjoy yourself, but if you feel that you need to do something, then do something you can enjoy for yourself. Here are 15 ideas to get you feel you celebrated you!

1. Create an Spa Light Vibe

If you’re staying in for the night, make your space feel fun. Clean up the area or re-organize an area to create that spa environment, then turn on some fun or relaxing lighting such as spa candles, a neon sign, that says “good vibes,” or a liquid motion lamp. Or maybe a diffuser which can be loaded with your favorite essential oils. Make your surroundings extra special and relaxing.

2. Devote a Substantial Amount of Time to reflect on yourself

If you’ve been putting off or ignoring something that you need, now can be a good moment to tune in and ask yourself what it is that you’ve been putting off or neglecting.

Do you need to give your mind a rest, or do you feel the need to take care of your body? How would you rate the various ways that you could spend your time?

Make a note of everything that comes up, and let that serve as a guide for the activities you do on your self-care date on Valentine’s Day.

3. Get Dressed Up In Something Extraordinary

Dress appropriately for the event, taking into account the kind of time you intend to have. Perhaps you have a seductive dress that has been patiently waiting for the right occasion to make its debut in the closet. Put it on, do your hair and your makeup, and own the fact that you are such a smokin’ hottie! You don’t have to wait until you have a date or a party to get dolled up and look your best.

On the other hand, if you really want to wear pajamas and feel incredibly comfortable while doing so, then put on your favorite pajamas and give yourself permission to do just that! Put on a comfy satin pajama set and pretend you’re floating about the room like a cloud with your favorite music playing.

4. Compose a “I Love You” letter to your present self.

Spend five to ten minutes writing a love note to yourself and save it. Discuss the many facets of your life in which you shine as a remarkable individual. You might even consider writing it from the point of view of a romantic partner or a close friend.

5. Treat Yourself to Some Hearty Food

Prepare or order your go-to meal, then sit back, relax, and savor each and every piece of it.

6. Use Your Imagination

If you have an interest in pursuing a hobby or craft, you should schedule some time in your schedule to do so. You can look around to purchase a paint kit if you ever wanted to get into painting, or look into your neighborhood craft classes. Now is the time to go after that craft or hobby you’ve been wanting to pursue.

7. Show Your Body Some Love

The act of truly appreciating and taking care of our bodies can provide us with something that many of us do not do nearly often enough. Instead, we spend a lot of time criticizing it and wishing that we had a different appearance. You’re going to love the way you feel after doing this Love Your Body meditation.

8. Pamper Yourself at the Spa

On Valentine’s Day, you should treat yourself to a day of relaxation and pampering, whether you do it at home or at a spa. Take a long soak in the tub while reading a nice book, or put on a face mask and watch your favorite show.

A daily investment in a full-body massaging mat is such a wise choice for optimal relaxation.

9. Invest in Some Flowers for Yourself

Flowers in the home just bring in that special vibe. The smell, the colors, and just looking at something pretty is always a good thing. Don’t feel like you can’t buy flowers for yourself.

10. Compile a List of Your Best Characteristics and Attributes

Not for anybody else, but for the purpose of serving as a daily reminder of your own value, jot down on scraps of paper the qualities you admire most about yourself, and store them in a jar. Take one out of the drawer once a day or anytime you feel like you need a pick-me-up.

11. Pick up a Steamy Romance Novel

The following are just a few of my top picks for contemporary romance novels:

Burning Little Secrets by Vivian Mae

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren

In Five Years by Rebecca Serle

12. Schedule a Get Together With Your Closest Friend

You should have your best friend over for a Galentine’s Day celebration, complete with all of your favorite treats and games, for a fun evening!

13. Jot Down All of Your Victories and Successes on a List

You can give yourself a boost of confidence by writing down as many of your achievements as you can think of, regardless of how big or tiny they are. Any knowledge you’ve gained, any abilities you’ve honed, any anxieties you’ve confronted, any difficulties you’ve surmounted, and any objectives you’ve achieved. They are all important, and you should definitely celebrate.

14. Observe an Episode of Your Favorite Television Show or Movie

Make yourself comfortable on the couch with your preferred feel-good movie or television series, a warm blanket, and some delicious food.

15. Repeat uplifting affirmations to yourself when looking in the mirror.

Affirmations are powerful tools that can be used to change the way a person thinks and feels about himself. If you have never employed them before, the first time you do so could make you feel uneasy. However, with practice, you will eventually grow to believe them, and they will help you get rid of any negative views you previously held.

When you look into your own eyes in the mirror while repeating one or two affirmations for a few minutes at a time, the power of the affirmations increases significantly. Here are a few examples of a good one:

I am deserving of your affection.

I have a profound and total love and acceptance for myself.

Only I can change my life

Pick one and do it again and over again until you feel fantastic.

And don’t forget to have fun and just enjoy your self care and perhaps doing all these with a glass of Wine! Keep smiling!
